Liverpool and Manchester United have been given a boost in their chase for Villarreal star Arnaut Danjuma.

The 25-year-old star has attracted attention from a number of Europe’s top sides after a stellar campaign under Unai Emery.

The former Bournemouth player has scored 16 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions this term, including an eye-catching six strikes in 11 Champions League matches.

And he has a £45 million exit clause in his deal that is valid this summer, according to a report from Marca.

A couple of Premier League clubs are understood to be sniffing around after the Netherlands international’s stunning debut campaign at El Submarino Amarillo following a £21 million switch from the Cherries.

Reports earlier in the term had suggested the attacker’s release clause stood at closer to £65 million but sources close to Arnaut have now confirmed it is in fact £20 million lower than that.

The recent news will come as music to the ears of the likes of the Reds and the Red Devils.

The Merseysiders too are thought to be suitors of Danjuma with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane both out of contract in 2023.

Although the same report claims he hasn’t ruled out remaining in Spain with a move to one of La Liga’s UCL clubs.
