Liverpool have registered an interest in landing the Ligue 1 side Nice striker Amine Gouiri, with manager Jurgen Klopp interested in signing the 21-year-old, according to a recent report from Spanish publication Fichajes.
Amine is a product of Lyon youth academy and went on to feature in 15 matches for Les Gones‘ first-team without netting a goal.
The 21-year-old star made the switch to Les Aiglons in the summer transfer market of 2020 and has since grown into an exciting youngster in the top-flight, having managed a more than handy tally of 20 goals and nine assists in 45 matches so far.
He has started the new campaign with four goals and an assist in four appearances. The French youth international’s seem to have put him on the radars of one of the elite clubs in the world in the form of Liverpool.
The Merseyside heavyweights have a well-established attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Fimino, with Divock Origi and Diogo Jota providing cover.
However, the Reds are now said to be thinking about adding another striker to their squad in the new year due to the Brazilian’s poor goalscoring form over the past couple of campaigns, with Amine emerging as a viable target.
