Buy-out clause of Liverpool target set to increase from €30m to €50m

Back in June, multiple reports from Portugal stated that Liverpool were keen on Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira.

It was said the Anfield outfit had been in contact with the player’s entourage, and to get a deal done, they would need to trigger his €30 million exit clause.

That rumour immediately went quiet, and as a Portuguese outlet Record features a piece on Fabio’s potential renewal, the interest from the Merseyside giants is recalled.

The sports newspaper writes that since his current contract expires next summer, the Dragons now see his contract as a priority. The club’s board want to renew it and raise the release clause to €50 million.

Record then points out the speculations which linked him to Jurgen Klopp’s side. They say nothing mattered because Vieira always gave the Liga Portugal Bwin giants his preference.

It’s said Porto didn’t get any satisfactory proposals in the summer, and that is why he was never even close to departing Estadio do Dragao.

What seems clear now is that the ace is about to get a lot more expensive, unless a club show up and finds a deal before the fresh contract is signed.

Liverpool misfit still attracting serious interest from Swiss club

Basel are allegedly weighing up a January swoop for Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius.

The 28-year-old star was strongly linked with a transfer away from Anfield over the summer, but the transfer market closed with the German remaining at the club.

Karius hasn’t been used by the Reds this season, and with his contract due to expire next summer, it seems unlikely that the keeper will make another appearance for Liverpool.

According to transfermarkt, Jurgen Klopp’s side are keen to shift the German star at the start of 2022, and Basel are thinking about reigniting their interest.

The report states that the Swiss outfit were interested in signing Karius over the summer but couldn’t agree personal terms with the player, so the proposed move fell through.

The former Manchester City ace, who made the last of his 49 appearances for the Reds back in 2018, has had recent loan stints with Besiktas and Union Berlin.

In other news, Liverpool are keen on Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi, if the latest reports from the Italian media are to be believed.

The star has struggled to force himself into coach Thomas Tuchel’s plans and he has made just one appearance in the division so far this season.

In spite of being a rumoured long-term target for Bundesliga side Bayern Munich, Jurgen Klopp is allegedly ‘keen’ on the Chelsea academy product.

Liverpool strongly pursuing 18-year-old sought-after midfielder

Liverpool are “very interested” in landing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, according to German journalist and transfer expert Christian Falk.

Jude has starred for Die Borussen since arriving from Birmingham City in the summer of 2020, contributing six goals and eight assists in 54 games for the Bundesliga giants across all competitions.

The 18-year-old is said to be admired by a couple of Premier League clubs, with the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United all linked with moves.

According to Christian, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are also “very interested” in the highly-rated Englishman, but it is likely that the talent will spend at least one more full campaign with Borussia Dortmund.

“Of course it’s true, Liverpool are very interested, but Jurgen Klopp has inhibitions about signing Dortmund players,” Falk told Bild.

“The contact with the club is also relatively good, so that will be difficult, especially since he still has a longer contract.

“I think he will end up on the island at some point, but, unlike [Erling Braut] Haaland, Dortmund fans can be hopeful that he will definitely play at least one more season.”

The midfield prodigy has scored twice and grabbed four assists in eight appearances for his team at the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
