Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in signing Marco Asensio in this summer transfer window. Spain international is also being tailed by Tottenham and Atletico Madrid, with Los Blancos demanding €40m in exchange for his services.
Marco joined Los Blancos from Mallorca in the summer of 2015 and was immediately sent out on loan to Espanyol. Following his come back from the temporary stint away from Real Madrid in 2016, Asensio has not looked back and has been a regular in the first-team setup at Real Madrid.
To date, the 25-year-old forward has turned out 193 times for Los Blancos while amassing a comeback of 37 goals and 22 assists. While the Spanish winger has often shown flashes of brilliance, the attacker has also been frustrated with his tendency to blow hot and cold, as was evident the last term.
Nevertheless, Asensio has seemingly been fantastic enough to attract the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal. However, Xherdan Shaqiri is almost sure to depart Liverpool this transfer window, while Divock Origi is also facing an uncertain future at Liverpool.
Therefore, the Reds can do with attackers this transfer window, with Mikkel Damsgaard one of their targets. Apart from Liverpool and Arsenal, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid are also interested in Marco, which is valued at nearly €40m by Real Madrid.
In addition, the likes of Everton, Leicester City and Leeds United have also been linked with Asensio in recent times. What stays to be seen is if Liverpool and Arsenal are prepared to meet his €40m valuation or if some other suitor pays up such a sum.
