Liverpool handed big boost ahead of Champions League clash



AC Milan have been received an injury blow ahead of their key UEFA Champions League meeting with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool as forward Rafael Leao will miss out.

The Reds have already qualified for the last 16 with victory in previous Group B game with a perfect record thus far of five wins from five matches, but Porto, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are battling for second place in the group.

I Rossoneri host the Anfield outfit at the San Siro on Tuesday, but they’ll have to tackle them without their Portuguese star.

According to the Italian website MilanNews.it, Rafael has a severe muscle contusion in the right thigh, which has led to a minor hamstring injury.

As such Stefano Pioli’s men will have to do without the former Lille youngster when they face the Merseyside giants.

Rafael has found the back of the net five times in 19 matches for his team so far this term, as well as picking up three assists.

One of the 22-year-old attacker’s assists came in the side’s earlier group meeting with the Reds when AC Milan lost 3-2 at Anfield.

It remains to be seen how the Serie A title-chasers will cope in the absence of the talented player.
