Liverpool are allegedly harbouring hopes of landing the Germany international Toni Kroos from Real Madrid next year.

The 31-year-old star remains an integral part of the Galacticos team under the Italian head coach Carlo Ancelotti but has now entered the final two years of his existing contract with the La Liga giants.

Having failed to land a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum this summer, the Reds are being tipped to strengthen their midfield ranks in 2022, with Napoli’s Fabian Ruiz understood to be on the Anfield outfit’s radar.

However, a Spanish news outlet El Nacional states that Jurgen Klopp is interested in signing his fellow countryman, who has also been linked with a move to Premier League title rival, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The report adds Jurgen and Toni have already had multiple positive conversations, and the Merseyside heavyweights plan to make an ‘irrefutable offer’ for the 2014 FIFA World Cup winner to seal the move to Anfield.

Toni has registered two goals and two assists from 13 matches in all competitions this campaign and has won four UEFA Champions Leagues, two La Liga titles and four FIFA Club World Cups during his seven seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu.
