Liverpool head-coach Jurgen Klopp may reportedly consider making a bid for Inter Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu.

Last terms Premier League and Champions League runners-up have already secure the services of the likes of Fabio Carvalho, Darwin Nunez and Calvin Ramsey ahead of the 2022/23 season.

That has led to Klopp stating on more than one occasion that he had no intention of adding any more fresh faces to Anfield for the first half of the campaign.

However, the German revealed ahead of Saturday’s Community Shield victory with Man City that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain faces a spell on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury.

Speaking on the matter, Klopp said: “With Oxlade it will take longer. It’s a serious hamstring injury and it will take longer. But it’s a hamstring, and we all hate this word, we hate the injury but anyway it happens from time to time and now Ox was the one.”

While Klopp has no disclosed a potential return date for the Englishman, he is now one player short for what will be a hectic start to the season.

Youngster Tyler Morton has also been allowed to join Blackburn Rovers for a season-long loan deal.

According to Calciomercato, consideration may be given to trying to secure the services of Calhanoglu from Inter over the coming weeks.

The report claims that Klopp is a long-term admirer of the Turkey international who has been involved in 20-goals for Inter Milan last season.
