Liverpool have been told by Paul Robinson to make a swoop for Toni Kroos in the January transfer window, claiming it’ll be a good deal for the Anfield outfit.

The latest claims have suggested that the German’s place in Los Blancos midfield might not be too secure at all.

There have been reports that Jurgen Klopp’s side are plotting a possible cut-price move for him, with the transfer sum only likely to be in the region of £20m.

Now, reacting to those speculations, Paul Robinson has had his say about the Reds potentially snaring Kroos.

The ex-Tottenham Hotspur star has claimed that the 31-year-old midfielder is just the kind of player the Merseyside giants should be buying at the moment.

“Kroos is the type of player Liverpool are shopping for at the moment, that place in the market. They have not got the finances and the resources to compete with the other big clubs,” he told Football Insider.

“Toni Kroos is 31 but the way he plays, you will get another four years out of him. At £20million, it would be a good price. He’s a fabulous player.

“I think Liverpool are light in that area of their squad. They massively miss [Georginio] Wijnaldum. He played almost every game last year.

“If they can get a player of Toni Kroos quality in January though… What is £20million in this day and age for a player of Kroos’ quality. That is a deal that would be good for Liverpool.”
