Barcelona are interested in Manchester United midfield target Youri Tielemans but can not afford Leicester City’s £46 million asking price.
According to reports, the Spanish side have been keeping tabs on the Belgium star and have been impressed by his recent showings.
The 24-year-old has played every minute of the Foxes’ Premier League campaign so far this term and was outstanding in the club’s 4-2 victory over the Red Devils on Saturday.
The Belgian signed for the club for £40m in 2019 after a successful loan stint from Monaco and has since missed only one division game for the club in over two campaigns.
It is stated Barca see Youri as exactly the kind of star they need to toughen up their midfield, as well as being huge admirers of Tielemans’ passing ability and technique on the ball.
The only way they could feasibly land the player would be on a free transfer, but his contract does not expire until summer 2023.
And with wealthier clubs like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side also interested, it seems unlikely that the Foxes will allow the player to leave for nothing when they could cash in.
They are reportedly locked in contract talks with Tielemans and are making every effort to convince the Belgian to stay at the King Power Stadium.
