Sheffield United are interested in signing James Garner from Man United in this summer transfer window. The Blades wish to sign U20 England international as a replacement for Sander Berge, albeit on a loan deal. The Blades ended their two-year remain in the PL on a whimper this past campaign.

After enjoying a memorable 2019/20 season, Sheffield United were expected to step up and become PL regulars, just to be struck by the dreaded “second season syndrome”, finishing rock-bottom in the top league. Back in the Championship, things have been slow for the Blades, who have hardly made any additions this transfer window.

However, the Blades have now set their sights on Garner, with the Red Devils youngster a viable target for them. James joined the Red Devils academy in 2009 before subsequently rising through the ranks rapidly at Man United.

One of the most effective performers at youth level for Man United, the 20-year-old midfielder, broke into the first-team side midway through the 2018/19 campaign, and the youngster has since gone on to amass a total of seven games for the Red Devils.

While he has been away from Man United, the English midfielder has made an impression, with his loan spells at Watford and Nottingham last term helping the footballer garner several fans.

In those two loan stints, James raked in 41 games, chipping in with four goals and an assist. Speaking of the interest from the Blades again, and James is a viable target for Sheffield United, who are in a precarious position over the future of Sander Berge.
