According to a report from the Express, Manchester United have lodged a bid for Kalidou Koulibaly.

This is despite the club’s interest in signing Raphael Varane as the club aim to bolster the backline. A £25 million offer was sent to Napoli via Kalidou’s agent Fali Ramadani.

The Old Trafford outfit have been active in the transfer window. Deals for Jadon Sancho and Tom Heaton are done.

However, that doesn’t mean United are done signing new players. They are pushing to snap up Real Madrid star Raphael Varane.

However, it’d seem that the Frenchman is not the only central defender on the Red Devils’ radar. United are also trying to get the Senegal international and rather seriously.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have seemingly sent a £25 million proposal for him. The Partenopei have received the offer through Fali Ramadani, the representative of Koulibaly.

The 30-year-old Koulibaly was once one of the best centre-halves in the world. However, recent years have seen him fall off that radar a bit.

Kalidou is said to be unhappy at the Serie A outfit and has wanted to leave for some time. The Italian heavyweights could also sanction a sale considering the financial impact of Covid.
