Man Utd target Stuttgart's No.9 forward this month

Manchester United have allegedly identified Stuttgart centre-forward Sasa Kalajdzic as a possible target this summer.

The 24-year-old star endured an injury-hit 2021-22 season and subsequently netted only six goals in 15 Bundesliga outings.

However, the 6ft 7in attacker was prolific in front of goal last term, scoring 17 times in 36 games across all competitions.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Red Devils are keeping tabs on him and consider the Austrian as a potential alternative to Benfica star Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguay international has been strongly linked with a transfer to Old Trafford, but the 20-time English champions may face stiff competition from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea for the player’s services.

Sasa, who has also been mentioned with Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur, has just over 12 months remaining on his Die Schwaben contract.

Elsewhere, Newcastle United are allegedly involved in a transfer battle with Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund for the services of Hugo Ekitike.

It has been previously stated that Ralf Rangnick’s side were to make an inquiry for him, but a recent report says that the Magpies are in the mix as well.

He has been with Reims for 24 months, and his current deal with the Ligue 1 outfit runs until June 2024.

Man Utd likely to next destination of speedy African centre-forward

Corriere dello Sport reported that there has already been an official approach from Manchester United for striker Victor Osimhen.

The youngster has been in fine form for Napoli, managing 18 goals and six assists across all competitions this term.

He prepares to feature versus Spezia in the last tie of this season and there’s a concrete possibility it could be his final game for the Naples-based club.

That is what La Repubblica are stating and they add the 23-year-old is targeted by at least two English sides, including the Red Devils.

It’s claimed the 20-time English champions are in pole position to land the Nigeria international and are prepared to knock on Napoli supremo Aurelio De Laurentiis’ door for his services.

The outlet adds that the Old Trafford outfit won’t find the door closed since the talent will be made available in the transfer market for the right price.

The asking price of €100 million has not frightened the Premier League giants, who have long set their sights on him.

Aurelio, for his part, is at the transfer window and knows he is in a position of strength since a hefty offer is needed to take the attacker away from Napoli.

Man Utd keeping close tabs on South American full-back

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is thinking about a move for Ajax centre-back Lisandro Martinez, claims The Telegraph.

A move for the Argentina international would be instead of a transfer of his teammate Jurrien Timber. He recently won de Joden’s player of the season award, with centre-half partner Jurrien winning ‘talent of the year’.

The same report states he would cost €30 million (£25 million), making the South American a potential bargain addition to the Red Devils’ backline.

The 24-year-old has been at Johan Cruijff ArenA since 2019. The Dutch outfit bought him from Defensa y Justicia, and the player has gone on to become an important player for the club.

He has played 74 games for the Eredivisie giants in three seasons and has represented his country at international level, where the player is expected to be part of the 2022 FIFA World Cup squad.

The aforementioned source says Erik views Lisandro as being one of the figures in his Ajax success, with the star signed as a successor for Matthijs de Ligt, who was sold to Juventus three terms ago.

The club may be more receptive to letting him go than the 20-year-old academy graduate.
