Bayern Munich winger and Manchester United target Kingsley Coman has signed a lucrative new contract with the Bundesliga giants.

The Frenchman, who has been at Die Roten since 2015, etched his name into their history by netting the only goal in the 2020 UEFA Champions League final versus Paris Saint-Germain.

The news is a major blow to Ralf Rangnick’s side, who were allegedly aiming to take advantage of the player running down his deal in Bavaria in the hope of landing him for free.

The 25-year-old attacker’s previous contract was until 2023 and the German outfit have painful recent memories of losing key players for nothing after David Alaba moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer last summer but Kingsley ended the speculation by agreeing on an extension on Wednesday.

‘I’m very happy because FC Bayern are one of the best clubs in the world and I know we still have a lot of opportunities and big goals here. I’ve been at the club since 2015 — it feels like a big family,’ he told their official website.

‘Everything is perfect here. My best years as a footballer are still ahead of me, and I’m glad I’ll be spending them at FC Bayern. My biggest goal is to win the Champions League again — and this time, please, together with our fans.’
