Manchester United have pinpointed Anderlecht left-back Sergio Gomez as a January transfer target, according to a recent report by TEAMtalk.

He has been brilliant in the Jupiler Pro League and could allegedly be in line to make the jump to the elite, having attracted interest from top European clubs.

Primarily a left-back, the player is versatile enough to operate as a wing-back and even in advanced roles when necessary.

Gomez has earned the Under-21 call up for his country’s national youth team and could get a senior chance if he continues to play at a similar level.

The 21-year-old came through the famed La Masia youth academy before being snapped up by the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund because of his excellent showings at the youth level.

The impressive talent had a two-year loan spell at Huesca before being sold to the Belgian outfit in 2021. He has taken the division by storm since then and could become a top-class defender in the future.

The Lotto Park outfit’s highly-rated youngster has made 28 appearances during the ongoing term while having an eye-catching goal involvement of six goals and 13 assists in all competitions (Jupiler Pro League, UECL Qualifiers and Beker van Belgie).
