Flamengo are allegedly keen for the Manchester United board to reduce their asking price for the Brazilian star Andreas Pereira.

The 25-year-old midfielder, who is currently on loan at the Serie A side, has registered three goals and an assist from nine league matches so far this season.

The Scarlet-Black have already agreed an option with the Red devils where they can push through a £17 million permanent transfer at the end of the term.

However, a Brazilian media source Globo Esporte states that the South American outfit want to negotiate a lower sum for Pereira over the coming months.

Flamengo officials reportedly feel that it wouldn’t be reasonable to pay such a transfer fee in the current financial climate.

Andreas has a contract at the 20-time English champions until the end of the 2022-23 season.

In other news, Marcus Rashford’s camp have allegedly been irked by comments towards the attacker made by Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He has also become renowned for his work off the field over the past 12 months, although the Norwegian recently claimed that his player should “prioritise his football” instead.

According to a report from The Athletic, the manager’s words have not gone down well with the Englishman’s camp, especially with the star often on the receiving end of alike criticisms on social media.

The report adds that the club believe the comments were misinterpreted, but the fact that the boss’ words made headline news have upset those close to Marcus.
