Manchester United have allegedly approached Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi to discuss a potential move to Old Trafford this summer’s transfer window.

Ralf Rangnick will lead the 20-time English champions for the remainder of the 2021-22 season before taking on a two-year consultancy position at the club.

Ajax’s Erik ten Hag and Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauricio Pochettino are said to be the two frontrunners to become the Red Devils’ permanent replacement for the Norwegian tactician Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

However, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Premier League giants have made contact with Simone to discuss his availability at the end of the term.

The report states that Atletico Madrid are also expressing an interest in the Italian, with the La Liga club’s board considering replacing Diego Simeone in the summer.

Simone was in charge of Lazio from 2016 to 2021 before becoming Antonio Conte’s successor at I Nerazzurri ahead of the 2021-22 term.


The 45-year-old chief has guided the Serie A champions to 19 wins, five draws and three defeats from their 27 games in all competitions this campaign.

And the side currently sit top of Serie A, while the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza outfit beat arch-rivals Juventus to win the Italian Super Cup in midweek.
