Diogo Dalot has suggested he will remain at Manchester United next term.
The Portuguese defender spent last season at AC Milan, making 33 appearances for the Serie A club and scoring twice.
The Italians are interested in signing Dalot on a permanent basis but they have been put off by the Red Devils’ £20m asking price.
United are keen on landing Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier but they have found little success in discussions with the La Liga giants.
Diogo is therefore likely to be retained and he has hinted his future is at Old Trafford by saying he wants to continue his development at the Theatre of Dreams after his loan stint in Milan.
Quizzed by United’s website what his target was for the campaign, Dalot replied: ‘Keep developing.
‘When I had a season like last season obviously the things start to get more demanding as well.
‘I want to keep playing, I want to keep giving everything I have and improve. I know last season was fantastic but I can do even more.’
Dalot joined United in 2018 in a £18 million deal from Porto.
He was hailed by then-manager Jose Mourinho as the future of the club but the Norwegian tactician Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sanctioned a £50 million move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka during his first summer at United and that led to a loan stint in Italy for the former Dragons youngster.
