Arsenal are allegedly weighing up a January move for the current Nottingham Forest player Djed Spence.

The 21-year-old defender, who is on loan from fellow the EFL Championship club Middlesbrough, starred for the Tricky Trees in their shock FA Cup win over the Gunners last week.

Former Fulham academy talent Spence put in a man of the match showing at the City Ground as the ace kept Gabriel Martinelli at bay during the 1-0 victory.

And according to the Mirror, the player’s impressive display caught the eye of the North London heavyweights.

They state that the Gunners are now eyeing up a swoop to secure his services as Mikel Arteta plans to bring in a backup right-back.

Calum Chambers is tied down at the club until the end of the term, while question marks still remain over the Portugal international Cedric Soares.

Hector Bellerin, who was loaned out to Real Betis on loan last summer, looks certain to leave on a permanent deal in the next transfer market.

It has been stated that the Boro board would be prepared to part company with Spence should they receive a sum in the region of £10 million.
