Arsenal have lodged an official bid to land FCSB wonderkid Ianis Stoica, according to the Romanian side’s owner.

Ianis has already scored six goals and produced two assists from 15 games in all competitions thus far this season, as his team sit second in the Liga I standings.

The 18-year-old forward would fit the Gunners’ new transfer approach, after all six of the club’s summer signings were stars under the age of 25.

FSCB chairman Gigi Becali has confirmed that the London outfit have made an offer for Stoica, but added that he’s holding out for more.

‘I currently have [an offer of] €7.5m (£6.3m) for Ianis Stoica and I want €10m plus 20% [future transfer clause].’ Gigi told, before revealing that it was Mikel Arteta’s side that had made the bid.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are also in the transfer market for a centre-forward.

According to Fabrizio Romano, they made an approach for Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic but added that the Serbian has no interest in joining them.

‘Arsenal are more than interested, they approached Fiorentina two weeks ago about the price and everything but the player is not interested,’ Fabrizio said on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE.

‘I’m told that his agents are not answering Arsenal’s calls. He doesn’t want to answer to Arsenal at the moment.’
