Arsenal legend Jens Lehmann is thinking big for his old club, believing the north Londoners could beat Europe’s biggest clubs to land Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.

The 21-year-old Norwegian has become one of the most prolific strikers on the planet over the last two seasons and has been linked with the likes of Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Chelsea.

After netting 41 goals in 41 games last term, he has shown no signs of slowing down this season, with 13 goals in 10 games in all campaigns since the start of the campaign.

The Gunners would certainly love to have Erling in their ranks, although a transfer to the Emirates doesn’t seem at all likely.

Jens would beg to differ, though, saying both Arsenal and Manchester United could have a chance of landing the young forward next year.

‘He already has an imposing stature; the force and height,’ the former shot-stopper told Bild. ‘Of course, he has to improve his [right] foot but I have never seen such a big, big player be so fast.

‘He’s still [at Dortmund]. There aren’t that many clubs where he can go and where he can make a difference. Maybe he could go to Manchester United or Arsenal, where he could bring a club back to the top.’.
