Arsenal have allegedly been encouraged to land young Brazilian shot-stopper Matheus Donelli.

The 19-year-old has Jorge Mendes as his entourage and his agents have pitched the highly-regarded goalie to Mikel Arteta’s side via a scouting report.

Bolavip Brasil states the Gunners have been watching the goalkeeper for a year and now have the opportunity to land him.

Arsenal icon Edu is the North London outfit’s senior member and a 19-page scouting document was sent his way in a bid to lure an offer.

The 43-year-old was previously at Corinthians, both as a director of football and a player, and likes to keep a close eye on his ex-club.

He has represented his country at the youth level, winning the Under-17s World Cup three years ago. The star made just one appearance for Timao in the Brazilian Serie A last year.

Corinthians current No1 is 34-year-old Cassio Ramos and Matheus was expected to start breaking into the senior team as his replacement but Donelli and Mendes are instead trying to push for a big transfer abroad.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has allegedly identified Inter Milan star and Arsenal transfer target Ivan Perisic as a possible January signing.
