Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka reportedly remains a doubt for his team’s trip to Manchester United in the PL on Thursday night, although the north Londoners are hopeful that no serious damage was done a few days ago.

The 20-year-old netted in Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Newcastle on Saturday but then limped off the pitch just after the hour mark.

The thigh problem is not said to be serious and the player’s substitution was precautionary, with manager Mikel Arteta saying after the victory:

‘It was an action where he said he felt something muscular. He wasn’t comfortable to continue and we’ll have to assess him.’

Arsenal go to Old Trafford last weekend as they look to continue their fine form and the Daily Mail state that they remain hopeful that Bukayo will be with them when the side travel north, but continue to assess the youngster ahead of that trip.

Saka has made 13 top-flight appearances so far this term, with 12 of those coming in Mikel’s starting XI and his goal versus Newcastle was his second in the division this season.

The England forward has been a big part of the Gunners’ upturn in form over the last several weeks which has seen them climb to fifth in the standings and only behind West Ham United in fourth on goal difference.
