Arsenal are understood to be interested in landing Djed Spence during the January transfer market.

He is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest and draw the attention of Mikel Arteta during their FA Cup match with the Gunners two weeks ago.

However, the Gunners will have to compete with Italian clubs Roma and Inter Milan as the pair are believed to be keeping tabs on him

They are said to be looking for reinforcements at the back as loanee Hector Bellerin could leave permanently this summer.

Therefore, the North London outfit have turned their attention to Djed – according to The Mirror.

The 21-year-old is believed to be rated around the £10 million mark by parent club Middlesbrough. However, any transfer during the winter transfer window will have to be clinched on a loan back basis.

This is because the 21-year-old has already played for the Boro this season. Therefore, the ace is unable to feature for a third club.

Arsenal will have to see off interest from I Giallorossi and I Nerazzurri – who are said to be keeping a close eye on the 21-year-old.

Former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho wanted to bring in the right-back from Middlesbrough last year but failed to do so. Therefore, he is poised to avoid the same fate with his Italian side.
