Premier League giants, Arsenal have officially registered their interest in securing the services of Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio, according to a report.

The 26-year-old Spain international forward is about to enter the final 12 months of his current deal with La Liga and UCL champions and could be forced out of the exit door as the Los Blancos seek to balance the books.

Asensio’s 2021-22 campaign saw him to found back of the net 12 times and set up two more in 42 appearances across all tournaments, although he was not a consistent starter under Carlo Ancelotti.

Amid competition from Federico Valverde and Rodrygo, Asensio was only named in the starting XI on 19 times in the Spanish top-tier and twice in the Champions League against PSG in the last 16.

Real are believed to try to garner a fee for Marco Asensio before losing him on a free next summer, and the forward should not be short of offers despite his lack of consistent first-team minutes.

According to The Mirror, the Gunners have been in touch with Asensio’s entourage to register their interest, however, the forward does have the offer of a new deal on the table from the Los Blancos.

However, the ex-Mallorca starlet supposedly has no interest in extending his deal with Spanish giants and want a final answer on his future by June 20.

The report claims that Marco Asensio is unlikely to be put off by the Gunners lack of Champions League football, however, he will want assurances over his game time before deciding on his next career move.
