Man Utd head-coach Erik ten Hag is ready to raid the Eredivise for a third time this summer in a bid to strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes next month.

Man Utd’s direct Premier League rivals Arsenal had been monitoring Gakpo’s situation and are still interested in securing the services of a wide forward this summer after missing out on Raphinha who signed for Barcelona in a £55m transfer fee.

Ten Hag has, thus far, been armed with just three new additions following the arrivals of Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Tryell Malacia.

While Arsenal have five made five signings Oleksandr Zinchenko (35m), Gabriel Jesus (£45m), Fabio Vieira (£34m), Matt Turner (£7.5m) and Marquinhos (£3m)

Rumours surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford has seen Man Utd linked with a move for hosts of forward across the Europe, while Arsenal are believed to keen on to increase their depth in order to compete for the silverware.

According to ESPN, Man Utd and Arsenal PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo who is valued at £35milion by his current club.

The 23-year-old managed to found back of the net 21 times in 47 games last term and has been capped seven times by Netherlands at senior international level.

The Red Devils, meanwhile, appear set for another setback with  Arnautovic, who emerged as a surrtarget over the weekend, likely to remain at Bologna, according to his manager Sinisa Mihajlovic.

‘I would be happy for Marko [in case he joins United] but I don’t think he will leave,’ said Mihajlovic.

‘I spoke to Arnautovic about Man Utd proposal – in case he leaves we will see… but I think he will stay.’
