Arsenal have reportedly emerged as one of the favourites to complete the signing of Real Madrid star Isco in the January transfer market.
His contract with Los Blancos runs out at the end of the term, at which point the player was widely expected to depart.
However, as per the same report mentioned above, the Spaniard might not have to wait until the summer transfer window to secure an exit as teams are lining up to snap him up in the winter transfer window itself.
It further says that, as things stand, the Gunners and Sevilla are leading the hunt for the 29-year-old playmaker’s signing, according to a fresh report from Catalunya Radio.
The Gunners have done a fair amount of business with the Galacticos in recent seasons.
The north Londoners had brought in Dani Ceballos on loan for two back-to-back campaigns while they purchased Martin Odegaard on a temporary deal earlier this year before making his transfer permanent in the summer transfer market.
But their interest in the Spaniard does come as a bit puzzling, particularly when Odegaard himself hasn’t been playing regularly.
Indeed, Mikel Arteta has tweaked his formation somewhat to play Alexandre Lacazette just off the main centre-forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka operating on the flanks.
