Gabriel Barbosa’s agent has shut down speculation the striker could be set for a transfer to the Premier League this winter.

The 25-year-old star has rebuilt his career with the Brasileirao outfit Flamengo after bringing an end to his nightmare Inter Milan spell.

I Nerazzurri splashed out €30 million on Gabriel five years ago, but the player managed just one goal in ten games and was sent on three separate loan stints before joining Rubro-Negro on a permanent basis last year.

Gabriel has since netted 60 goals in 86 matches for the Rio de Janeiro-based side and his form was said to have put some of England elite clubs on red alert ahead of the January transfer market.

Reports stated intermediaries were exploring potential options for Gabriel and the Gunners, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Aston Villa have all been touted with an interest in recent weeks.

However, Junior Pedroso has poured cold water on the recent speculation, claiming the gossips derived from a Portuguese official without any affiliation to his client.

‘Only us from 4ComM and Gabriel’s father can speak on behalf of the athlete’ Pedroso told Yahoo Esports’ Jorge Nicola.

‘There is absolutely nothing with the Premier League or any other league at the moment.’

He is adamant Gabriel hasn’t had his head turned and remains fully concentrated on his side, with three years remaining on his existing contract.

‘He is focused solely on playing for Flamengo because he is very happy at the club,’ Junior added.
