Chelsea are reportedly ahead in the hunt to add Wrexham ace Daniel Davies to their youth ranks.

The in-demand left-back who has drawn interest from Liverpool is on a week-long trial with Thomas Tuchel’s side, according to Goal.

The 16-year-old Davies, who recently played his first match for Wales’ Under-18, was also offered trials with Stoke City and Brighton but it is understood the Blues are a more appealing destination for him.

The youngster, who has been handed his chance to impress at the club’s Cobham training ground, currently plies his trade at the National League side Wrexham.

Chelsea are rumoured to be on the hunt for fresh talent from lower-tier and non-league sides following the departure of three talents this summer.

Lewis Bate, Marc Guehi and Tino Livramento are among the stars who have departed for other teas with the trio heading to Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Southampton respectively.

It is thought that Daniel could potentially be signed as part of their reported six-month plan to boost talent in the academy.

It is stated the Blues are keen to bolster their youth-level left-back variants after releasing Declan Frith.
