Chelsea midfielder Jorginho’s entourage says returning to Serie A after lifting next year’s FIFA World Cup would be a ‘dream’ scenario for his client.

The 29-year-old star had an outstanding season last term, getting his hands on the UEFA Champions League at club level before winning the UEFA Euro 202 with the Italy national team.

In doing so, he joined an elite unit of just ten males to lift both trophies in the same campaign and the star was named UEFA Men’s Player of the Year in August to cap off a stellar year.

However, there has been some uncertainty over the deep-lying playmaker’s future, with the Italian out of contract at Chelsea in two years time and former club Napoli, Barcelona and Juventus monitoring the situation.

He has done little to rubbish the rumours and his agent has further fueled the speculation during the latest interview with Radio Bianconera.

‘He has a contract with Chelsea until 2023. Obviously, it would be a dream for him to return to Italy, hopefully after winning the World Cup,’ Joao Santos said.

‘We’ll have to see what the market looks like in a couple of years and what the other situations are.’
