Olivier Giroud says it’d be ‘nice’ if Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech joined him at the Serie A club AC Milan.
Ziyech joined the Blues in a £33.3 million deal from the Eredivisie side Ajax last year but struggled to make an impression particularly after Thomas Tuchel replaced club legend, Frank Lampard, as a manager in January.
Reports have stated that the Chelsea board would be open to selling the Morocco midfielder, while AC Milan have declared their interest in the star.
And Giroud, who played alongside Hakim at Chelsea last season before sealing the move to Italy this summer’s transfer market, is keen to link back up with his ex-teammate.
When quizzed about the prospect of Hakim also joining him at the San Siro before the end of the transfer market, Giroud said at his press conference this week: ‘Ziyech is a great player.
‘We have had a great connection even though we have played few games together.
‘He has a top left foot, has experience and he is very good technically. It would be nice to play with him again.’
Elsewhere, Chelsea will allegedly have to sell one defender before making an official offer for Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.
The France international is said to have agreed to personal terms with the west Londoners following advanced talks and wants to complete a switch to Stamford Bridge this summer.
