Chelsea are allegedly keeping a close eye on Ivan Perisic as Thomas Tuchel plans to bolster his defensive options.
Having lost Ben Chilwell for the remainder of the term to a cruciate ligament, leaving the side short of the depth on the left wing where the Spanish star Marcos Alonso has started 12 of the last 14 matches in all competitions.
Ivan has operated as a left wing-back for I Nerazzurri this season and, according to the Mirror, the Blues see him as the perfect candidate to provide competition and cover for Alonso.
He has played 230 games for the Serie A champions, netting 49 goals and setting up a further 42, since signing from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2015.
The 32-year-old player has six months left on his contract and is understood to be happy to sign an extension with the Italian heavyweights, but the two sides remain distant.
Last week, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Croatian wanted to sign a three-year contract on a salary higher than his existing one, while the board would prefer Perisic to sign a two-year deal on lower wages.
Should they fail to reach a total agreement, the hierarchy could look to sell him this month instead of losing him for nothing in the summer.
