Chelsea are allegedly keeping tabs on the Serie A champions Inter Milan’s defensive pair Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar.

The west Londoners were in the transfer market for a centre-half after selling the French star Kurt Zouma to league rivals West Ham United last month.

They were interested in signing Jules Kounde in the summer but failed to find a total agreement with Sevilla after the La Liga club raised their asking price for the player in the final stages of the summer transfer market.

According to a recent report from an Italian source Sport Mediaset, record acquisition Romelu Lukaku has recommended the Nerazzurri defenders Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar to Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.

The report adds both Milan and Alessandro are crucial members of the club’s project under new manager Simone Inzaghi, and thus, it’ll be difficult to prise them away from the San Siro outfit.

The European champions will need to bolster their defensive unit with the Brazil international Thiago Silva set to be out of contract at the club at the end of the campaign while club captain Cesar Azpilicueta is slowly entering the twilight of his career.
