Chelsea will not pay €40m for Atletico Madrid loanee next year

Chelsea completed midfielder Saul Niguez’s signing in the last stages of the summer transfer market.

The Blues took the Spaniard on a loan deal from Atletico Madrid, with an option to make the player’s stay permanent at the end of this term.

He has been on the field for 146 minutes, which came from three games for the west London club.

The 26-year-old star is yet to make an appearance in the PL since featuring in his side’s win against Aston Villa on September 11th.

Saul left the La Liga champions in order to try a fresh experience, but things haven’t gone as expected with Chelsea.

That is according to the Spanish daily newspaper La Razon, who also states that the current situation would make it difficult for the UEFA Champions League winners to exercise the purchase option set at €40 million.

This is not the only reason, as the report goes on to say that Thomas Tuchel’s side want to land Marcelo Brozovic. The Croatian’s current deal runs down in 2022 and he is in talks with Inter Milan regarding a renewal.

For now, everything indicates Niguez will return to Los Rojiblnacos since Chelsea have no intention of signing him outright.

Chelsea No.9 may miss five matches in row with ankle problem

Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku is allegedly facing a month out of action due to the ankle injury he sustained in the Blues’ Champions League win against Malmo on Wednesday night.

The Belgian forward twisted his ankle during the first half while the German star Timo Werner also picked up an injury to leave a cloud over the west London side’s comprehensive 4-0 rout at Stamford Bridge.

According to a report from The Sun, the £98 million summer acquisition now faces a lengthy stint on the sideline which could be a blow to Thomas Tuchel’s side’s chances in the Premier League title hunt.

If Romelu does miss four weeks, then he will miss division games against Norwich City, Newcastle United and Burnley, as well as a League Cup match versus Southampton and the return fixture against the Swedish club.

The former Inter Milan attacker has been struggling in the final third lately with no goals in his previous seven outings after a promising start to his second stint in west London.

Meantime, Chelsea have allegedly edged ahead in the race to land Wrexham teenager Daniel Davies.

The 16-year-old prodigy recently made his debut for Wales U18s, helping his country to a 1-1 draw against England U18s.

The teenager’s showing during that fixture strengthened his chances of earning a transfer to an elite club over the coming months.

According to Goal, the defender has been handed a chance to spend a week on trial at the Blues’ Cobham Training Centre.

Chelsea target France international left-back in €60m deal

Chelsea are ready to offer €60 million to land Ferland Mendy from Real Madrid next year, according to a recent report by Catalan outlet El Nacional.

He joined Los Blancos from Lyon in the summer transfer market of 2019 and quickly established himself as an important figure for his team. However, the last several months have been difficult for him.

A long-term injury had kept the Frenchman sidelined for months before Ferland finally made his return this month.

So far, he has turned out 71 times for the Galacticos, registering three goals and four assists along the way.

However, there have been reports that the player could be facing an uncertain Santiago Bernabeu future, with Chelsea keen on landing him.

The Spain international Marcos Alonso is once again facing a move away from Chelsea despite a productive start to the new season.

With defender Emerson Palmieri unlikely to establish a foothold in the senior team setup at Stamford Bridge when he returns from Lyon loan stint, it goes without saying that the Blues might need a replacement for Marcos.

To that end, Ferland is a viable target for the London giants, especially given there have been claims that the La Liga side are considering his sale.
