Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on signing Chelsea attacker Timo Werner, and an agreement could be reached between the clubs as early as this January.

The German side are currently in the transfer market to provide cover for number nine Robert Lewandowski and the Premier League man is currently top of the list.

In spite of only signing for the London outfit last summer, Timo’s time with the west Londoners could be coming to an end in the January transfer window as Munich prepare to lodge a bid.

According to Football Insider, a reported deal between the two European top clubs could take place in the winter, with Werner possibly reuniting with his ex-RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann.

Timo has only featured as a substitute in the three top-flight games since Romelu Lukaku returned to Chelsea from Inter Milan, and is yet to open his account for the campaign.

It has previously been claimed that Werner is remaining open-minded about his long-term future as a player, with Thomas Tuchel also understood to be interested in possibly bringing in Bayern’s Leroy Sane.

The attacker signed for Chelsea for £45 million last year and managed to net 12 goals while making 15 assists in a campaign that saw him lift the Champions League.
