Barcelona are prepared to beat Chelsea to the signing of Russian ace Arsen Zakharyan and have already made their own move.

That is according to journalist Nobel Arustamyan, who states the Spanish giants are pushing ahead to get the talent ahead of Thomas Tuchel’s side.

The Blues were mentioned with a move for Arsen last month, with Sport Express reporting that they and RB Leipzig were keeping tabs on the 18-year-old.

They reported that the midfielder was available for as little as €12 million, although that figure is set to rise to €15 million next year.

Either way, the keen interest was there, with it was claimed that particularly Chelsea are keeping a close eye on the Russian’s career.

It seems they will have to move fast if they are interested, though, as Blaugrana are now pushing ahead.

Nobel reports, via Championat, that the player’s performances have not gone unnoticed, and the Catalans sent scouts to watch Dynamo matches on several occasions.

The club were ‘satisfied’ by what they saw and are now ready for talks with Dynamo and Arsen, with negotiations expected to take place in the near future.

At the moment, there have no official proposals, so the Blues are not behind in that sense at least, nor have discussions been started as of yet either.
