Napoli 23-year-old star linked with summer move to Arsenal

Serie A giants, Napoli’s forward Victor Osimhen has confirmed that Premier League teams are interested in securing his services this summer.

The 23-year-old forward has enjoyed a successful season at Napoli, founding back of the net 18 times in 32 games in all competitions.

Osimhen’s form has attracted interest from Real Madrid and Man Utd while the Evening Standard claims that the Gunners have already bid £51m for the Nigeria international forward, which falls short of Napoli’s reported asking price of £85m.

With rumours circulating about a possible switch away from Italy, Osimhen addressed his future while on international duty with Nigeria.

The 23-year-old forward was quoted by Calciomercato, stating: “I know there are many people that would like me in Spain or England, but I don’t think it’s the right time to talk about it now that I’m with the national team. I always go out on the pitch to do my best both with the national team and with my club.

“I don’t know my future, I know anything can happen, but now I just want to go on holiday with my family, clear my head and recharge my batteries. Then we’ll take care of everything else.”

The attacker has found back of the net five times in the current international window, including a four-goal haul in Nigeria’s 10-0 victory over Sao Tome & Principe.

Man Utd likely to next destination of speedy African centre-forward

Corriere dello Sport reported that there has already been an official approach from Manchester United for striker Victor Osimhen.

The youngster has been in fine form for Napoli, managing 18 goals and six assists across all competitions this term.

He prepares to feature versus Spezia in the last tie of this season and there’s a concrete possibility it could be his final game for the Naples-based club.

That is what La Repubblica are stating and they add the 23-year-old is targeted by at least two English sides, including the Red Devils.

It’s claimed the 20-time English champions are in pole position to land the Nigeria international and are prepared to knock on Napoli supremo Aurelio De Laurentiis’ door for his services.

The outlet adds that the Old Trafford outfit won’t find the door closed since the talent will be made available in the transfer market for the right price.

The asking price of €100 million has not frightened the Premier League giants, who have long set their sights on him.

Aurelio, for his part, is at the transfer window and knows he is in a position of strength since a hefty offer is needed to take the attacker away from Napoli.
