Arsenal £72m signing could depart from club this month
Arsenal attacker Nicolas Pepe has allegedly tasked his representative with securing him a transfer away from the north London outfit this summer.
The 26-year-old Ivory Coast international has failed to live up to expectations since his eye-catching £72 million move from Lille three years ago.
This term, the forward has featured sporadically for his team, struggling to get in the Gunners team ahead of Bukayo Saka.
According to Football.London, he wants to leave the club in the next transfer market and has told the entourage to sort out a transfer to another outfit.
The report adds that the management are expected to listen to proposals for the former Les Dogues player.
Mikel Arteta has already hinted at a couple of signings being made, with the capital giants needing a larger roster for European competition next term.
When quizzed last month if he anticipates an active summer, the Spanish tactician said: ‘I am expecting so, yes.
‘I think both competitions [the Champions League and Europa League] require a much larger squad because the amount of games you play is much bigger in both, so I don’t think [which you qualify for] makes a lot of difference or changes a lot.
‘If you can financially afford it and we don’t have to do the turnaround in the squad that we’ve had to do, if you ask me what I want it’s 22 outfield players and three goalkeepers.
‘You have to come a long way in the aspects that you see on the pitch, it’s a lot of things that have to be put in place, and that takes time.’
