Arsenal and Chelsea Join Other Clubs Interested in Nigerian Talent

Arsenal and Chelsea have joined a number of top clubs in the race to sign Nigerian youngster Henry Onyekuru, the Daily Mail have reported.

The 19-year-old winger has impressed for Belgian side Eupen, attracting the interest of numerous clubs in Europe.

Celtic reportedly had a £1m bid turned down last month for the in demand teenager, and he has now been brought to the attention of some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

Onyekuru attempted to force a move to the SPL champions in January having learned of their interest, and was briefly dropped from the team. But he has since made a return and has been informed that he can leave the club in the summer.

That has opened the door for Arsenal and Chelsea, who may have to pay at least £6m for the highly rated prospect. The price for the player also plays a big part in his likelihood of being granted a work permit after a potential move to the UK.

Onyekuru has scored 12 goals in 26 games for Eupen this season, and impressed against Gent earlier this month when a number of scouts watched him score the winner.

Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund, Monchengladbach and Lille are also believed to be interested in Onyekuru and are reportedly tracking his progress.

Nigerian Attacker Amitted Liverpool Are Interested in Signing Him

Nigerian winger Henry Onyekuru has claimed that Liverpool have shown an interest in signing him. The 19-year-old, who currently plays for Belgian side Eupen, has seen his stock rise after an impressive season and believes Jurgen Klopp is keen on bringing him to Anfield.

To be taken with a huge pinch of salt, of course, Onyekuru said via AnfieldHQ: “My agency informed me Liverpool have shown interest. I am glad a big team like Liverpool too have showed interest in me.”

Onyekuru is thought to be available for around £3m and, with Klopp thought to be entertaining the possibility of refreshing his attacking ranks, it may be a deal worth pursuing for the Reds.

However, Onyekuru is untested in a major European league and signing him would be a major risk. Of course, it remains possible that Liverpool are tracking his progress to see if he would be a worthy investment at some point in the future.

Celtic are also thought to be in the running for Onyekuru and have even reportedly had one bid rejected during this window.

Agent Confirms: Liverpool are Interested In Singing 10 Goals Striker

Liverpool are interested in signing highly rated Belgian First Division star Henry Onyekuru, an agent has confirmed.

Onyekuru has impressed this season playing for Belgian side K.A.S. Eupen, scoring 10 goals in 22 Jupiler League appearances. Other European sides are said to be interested in signing the 19-year-old, including the likes of Fenerbahce, CSKA Moscow, RB Leipzig and Hoffeinheim.

Scottish giants Celtic recently failed with a bid to sign the young prospect. However, an intermediary who attempted to spark Fenerbahce’s interest has claimed Liverpool are now in the hunt to sign the Nigerian.

“His agent told me about Liverpool’s interest yesterday when I tried to reignite Fenerbahce’s interest in his services. I don’t how long Eupen can hold on to him, he is a very good player,” the source told
