Asist Analiz’s Trabzonspor journalist Haluk Ayyildiz states the club have informed Liverpool they want €30 million for their goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.
The Turkish star has been impressing for his local side since the start of last campaign, and there have now been repeat links with Jurgen Klopp’s side.
There have been reports the PL side have been sending scouts to Turkey to get a lowdown on the talent.
Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu revealed they have rejected a €20 million offer from an unnamed club for the player.
Ayyildiz now reports Super Lig side are looking to get at least €30m from the sale of their shot-stopper, but give no information on whether Liverpool are prepared to meet the Super Lig club’s demands.
In spite of the repeated claims, it simply does not make sense. Liverpool have Alisson and there is no point spending big on a back-up option, and it also would not help Cakir’s development to sit on the bench.
The 23-year-old star has made 25 appearances for Trabzonspor across all competitions and kept three clean sheets. His deal with his boyhood club will expire at the end of the summer of 2024.
Meantime, Liverpool chief Jurgen Klopp is reportedly interested in landing Real Madrid attacker Isco.
The 27-year-old star struggled with injury in the early stages of the 2019-20 season but has still made 17 appearances for Los Blancos this term.
The Spain international has a contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until the summer of 2022, although the midfielder’s future in Madrid continues to be called into question.
