Liverpool have reportedly raised several doubts about midfield target Thiago and have no interest in landing the Bayern Munich star, according to reports.

Speculation linking the 29-year-old star with a move to Anfield has been ramping up with his deal due to expire next summer.

Thiago is said to have requested to quit the German champions in search of a new challenge after seven years with Die Roten.

However, according to ESPN, the Reds have cited several reasons why they are not interested in the Spaniard, including his age, injury record, transfer fee and wages.

The report claims that Thiago does not fit in with the profile of a player the Reds aim to recruit and there is unlikely to be a flurry of transfer activity at the club this window.

The financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the Reds hard and unless a big player departs, there will be no high-profile signings.

When quizzed about Thiago, Jurgen Klopp hailed the former Barcelona man’s ability but refused to comment on a prospective move.

‘I have no idea who will play for me next year, there is nothing to say at the moment,’ Jurgen told Sky Germany last week.

‘Thiago Alcantara is a great player, but also a Bayern Munich player. That’s actually all there is to say. There’s nothing to say!’

In terms of outgoings, Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana will leave the club as their deals have expired.

Centre-back Dejan Lovren – who has fallen down the pecking order in Jurgen’s side – has been informed that he is free to leave, while the Reds are open to offers for shot-stopper Loris Karius upon his return from his two-year loan spell at Besiktas.
