Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho is reportedly closing in on a switch to Manchester United but according to TalkSport’s Alex Crook, the England forward would prefer a transfer to Liverpool over a move to Old Trafford.
When discussing Jadon’s future on TalkSport on Monday, former Liverpool and Tottenham star, now pundit, Danny Murphy said: “I did hear that his preference would be Liverpool ahead of United.”
Alex then said he’d heard the same thing from a family member of the in-demand England international.
“I heard the same and that has actually come from a family member of Jadon Sancho’s that lives over here in England. That was before the pandemic and before Jurgen Klopp couldn’t justify spending big money on Timo Werner.”
The Reds may have had the ability to bring in Sancho if their finances were all in order but the impact of the COVID-19 crisis looks to have reduced Jurgen Klopp’s transfer budget.
Manchester United seemingly have no such worries and as such, the club look like they will be about to add another excellent attacker player to their already exciting collection of forwards.
In the meantime, the Reds are reportedly contemplating whether or not to launch a move for Norwich City defender Jamal Lewis.
The 22-year-old ace turned out 28 times in the most recent Premier League season, but his side ultimately suffered an immediate relegation back down to the EFL Championship and will likely be forced to say goodbye to multiple players during the summer window.
Jamal has supposedly caught the eye of a number of top-flight teams following his performances for the Canaries, and according to The Independent, Liverpool are the frontrunners for the left-back’s signature.
