Liverpool are reportedly the favourites to sign Norwich teen Todd Cantwell after firming up their rumoured interest this month.
Manchester United have been heavily mentioned with a transfer for Cantwell, who has caught the eye of rival sides in a relegation-battling side.
Liverpool supporters were impressed by Cantwell’s performance in their win against Norwich at the weekend and the Athletic claim Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff were won over by the 21-year-old ace.
Even the Liverpool stars liked what they saw from Todd, who has scored six times this campaign.
United were weighing up a move for him in January but decided to focus their efforts on landing Bruno Fernandes and an emergency striker.
Tottenham and Manchester City have also expressed an interest in Todd, but Liverpool have stepped up their reported pursuit of the attacking midfielder since the close of the winter transfer market.
As a result, the Reds are now the favourites to land Cantwell, who will be allowed to depart Norwich if they are relegated from the English top-flight.
Norwich are currently rock bottom of the standings and appear destined to drop back down in the EFL Championship after just a campaign in the league.
Liverpool believe they can snap up Todd for around £30 million and he could be a direct successor for Adam Lallana, who is set to leave the club once his deal expires.
Klopp has a wealth of variants in midfield but will be keen to inject some new energy this summer with the Reds poised to win their first PL title.
