Liverpool are keen on re-signing Philippe Coutinho from the Spanish heavyweights Barcelona, reports say.
The Reds offloaded Coutinho to Blaugrana back in the winter transfer window of 2018, with the Brazil international switching to the Camp Nou in a £142 million transfer.
At the time, many expected the Brazil star to be a huge hit considering how well he performed in the English top-flight.
But Philippe has suffered since his Anfield exit, struggling for form at Blaugrana while his former team have gone on to win the UEFA Champions League trophy.
Given the attacking midfielder’s struggles, talk of a transfer away from Catalonia this summer market has been rife.
And Catalan publication Mundo Deportivo say that the Reds are interested in re-signing the player.
Philippe has ruled out Manchester United because they aren’t competing in the UEFA Champions League.
And a move to Frank Lampard’s Chelsea has also been discarded because of their transfer ban.
The report says, though, that Reds will not break the bank to bring the player back to Merseyside.
