Trabzonspor order Liverpool to cough up €30m transfer fee for goalkeeper

Asist Analiz’s Trabzonspor journalist Haluk Ayyildiz states the club have informed Liverpool they want €30 million for their goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.

The Turkish star has been impressing for his local side since the start of last campaign, and there have now been repeat links with Jurgen Klopp’s side.

There have been reports the PL side have been sending scouts to Turkey to get a lowdown on the talent.

Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu revealed they have rejected a €20 million offer from an unnamed club for the player.

Ayyildiz now reports Super Lig side are looking to get at least €30m from the sale of their shot-stopper, but give no information on whether Liverpool are prepared to meet the Super Lig club’s demands.

In spite of the repeated claims, it simply does not make sense. Liverpool have Alisson and there is no point spending big on a back-up option, and it also would not help Cakir’s development to sit on the bench.

The 23-year-old star has made 25 appearances for Trabzonspor across all competitions and kept three clean sheets. His deal with his boyhood club will expire at the end of the summer of 2024.

Meantime, Liverpool chief Jurgen Klopp is reportedly interested in landing Real Madrid attacker Isco.

The 27-year-old star struggled with injury in the early stages of the 2019-20 season but has still made 17 appearances for Los Blancos this term.

The Spain international has a contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until the summer of 2022, although the midfielder’s future in Madrid continues to be called into question.

Liverpool reject La Liga club approach for Switzerland international

Sevilla have signing the Swiss forward Xherdan Shaqiri in mind this transfer window, but Liverpool have snubbed a loan offer from the Andalusian outfit.

With half of the fixtures still to go, Sevilla are working hard in the final part of the transfer window to strengthen their team.

The attack is what worries the management of the mist and that is why En-Nesyri arrived at the club.

However, the Andalusian side wanted to sign, apart from the South American, a well-known footballer this January: Xherdan Shaqiri.

According to the BBC, Los Nervionenses made Liverpool an offer to get Xherdan on loan until the end of the campaign, with an option to buy.

In spite of this, the Reds turned down the offer, as their position remains not to get rid of Switzerland international in this window.

The only way that a team could land him is by making an offer between €30 and €40 million, a figure that will be difficult for any side to cough up.

In other news, Liverpool are reportedly contemplating a summer swoop for Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

Earlier on Thursday, the Merseyside club were credited with an interest in Isco, who is likely to depart Real Madrid at some point during 2020.

However, El Desmarque claims that Jurgen Klopp is keeping his variants open as he considers strengthening his roster during the summer.

In spite of Isco expected to cost in the region of £59 million, the report claims that Liverpool would have to pay a higher sum for Ruiz.

Liverpool line up Napoli No.8 star should Isco deal fall through

According to El Desmarque, the alternative to Real Madrid playmaker Isco is Fabian Ruiz of Napoli for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

It has been claimed by the Spanish publication that Liverpool are interested in landing Spain international attacking midfielder Isco from Spanish and European heavyweights Madrid in the January transfer window.

The report has added that the Reds have pinpointed an alternative to Isco – who will cost €70 million (£59.15 million) in transfer sums – in Ruiz, but the 23-year-old midfielder will be even more expensive.

Fabian has been on the books of Napoli since the summer transfer window of 2018 when he joined from La Liga side Real Betis.

The Spain international midfielder made 20 starts and seven starts in Serie A for Partenopei last season, scoring five goals and picking up four assists in the process.

The 23-year-old star also scored one goal in five UEFA Europa League matches and played six times in the UEFA Champions League for the Naples outfit in 2018-19 season.

So far this campaign, Ruiz has made 17 starts and one substitute appearance in the league for the Naples-based outfit, scoring one goal and creating two assists in the process.

The Spain international has also played six times in the UEFA Champions League for Napoli thus far this campaign.

Ruiz played for his side against Liverpool in the Champions League last campaign, and he predicted to Marca in May 2019 that Jurgen Klopp’s side would win the UCL final against Tottenham Hotspur – which they did.
