Real Madrid are among the teams ready to move for Liverpool transfer target Fabian Ruiz, the Napoli midfielder’s agent has confirmed.
The 24-year-old Spanish midfielder has impressed since leaving Real Betis for Serie A two years ago and has been widely tipped to leave the Italian side in the summer.
The Reds are thought to be in the hunt to sign him, along with Real Madrid and their arch-rivals Barcelona, while Manchester United and Bayern Munich have been impressed by his displays.
And Ruiz’s entourage Alvaro Torres confirmed he had informed Napoli of interest from Los Blancos in signing his client, who has netted two goals and provided two assists in Serie A this term, as he hinted at a summer move.
‘It’s obvious that there are many important clubs that have asked about him, he has spent three years at a high level,’ Torres told Canal Sur Radio.
‘Yes, it’s true that Real has shown interest, we told Napoli. But right now, he must focus on his team. This summer, we will see. He is a midfielder who will mark an era.’
Meantime, Real Madrid won’t be given a free run at Rennes ace and Liverpool target Eduardo Camavinga, the reports say.
The Spanish club have allegedly identified the 17-year-old midfielder as a leading target ahead of this summer’s transfer market and are said to be prepared to offer €50 million (£44.8m) for his services.
A recent report stated that Camavinga preferred Madrid over the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund.
However, according to Le 10 Sport, the talent has not decided to join Zinedine Zidane’s side in the summer and will weigh up all of his options at the end of the 2019-20 term.
Sevilla are preparing a big offer to sign Xherdan Shaqiri in the summer, according to a Swiss German-language newspaper Blick, via Sport Witness.
The 28-year-old forward is expected to leave Liverpool at the end of the term, having fallen out of favour under manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds are said to want between £16 million and £18 million for Xherdan’s services, with Roma and CSKA Moscow among those keen on landing him.
It is Sevilla who appear to be leading the hunt, however, with a ‘lucrative multi-year contract’ mentioned in the aforementioned report.
It makes total sense for all sides to move Shaqiri on, allowing the Swiss more game time and giving Liverpool the chance to land a superior successor.
Milot Rashica has been mooted as a summer signing for the Reds – the Kosovar is a younger alternative with 10 goals and four assists for German side Werder Bremen this season.
It is easy to forget that the Reds paid just £13 million to sign Xherdan, and it looks as though the club should make that back and more in the summer.
They have got some useful contributions from the player such as his two match-winning goals versus Manchester United or his pinpoint cross to Gini Wijnaldum in the famous comeback win against La Liga giants Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final.
That is a great business if it proves to be the case, highlighting the continued good work of Jurgen and Michael Edwards in the transfer market.
Arsenal management will listen to offers for Liverpool target Gabriel Martinelli this summer transfer window, according to 90min.
The Gunners will consider selling the young South American, should an offer be deemed too good to reject.
Liverpool were linked with a swoop for Martinelli earlier this season, seeing the Brazilian as someone who could bolster their attacking variants.
The 18-year-old forward has scored 10 goals for Arsenal this campaign, including two away to the Anfield outfit in the Carabao Cup.
Gabriel could be a fantastic signing for the Reds, with the teenager looking every bit a manager Jurgen Klopp player in style. The Reds chief even called him a ‘talent of the century’, following Gabriel’s double at Anfield.
Versatile, technical and tenacious – he can play centrally and on either wing – Gabriel could be an ideal backup option to Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, bringing with him a proven goal threat.
Divock Origi could leave and Rhian Brewster’s long-term future at Anfield is not guaranteed, so Martinelli could fill the void perfectly. The ace has shown this campaign that he can thrive for a top club.
In other news, Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher has said that he is “baffled” that midfielder Jordan Henderson is only now receiving widespread praise for his displays.
“I have to say I am delighted but a little baffled that Jordan Henderson is getting more praise this season than in previous years,” Jamie wrote in The Telegraph.
H has made 35 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season, netting three goals and creating five more.
