Liverpool could launch a move for Lille midfielder, Renato Sanches, with Fabrizio Romano claiming a summer transfer may be on the cards.

He has been linked with a switch to Anfield already. Reports in December from France stated the Reds were keeping an eye on the Portuguese talent, who has previously played in the English top-flight with Swansea City.

And speaking on his Here We Go Podcast, reliable journalist Romano reports a deal for Renato is very much something under consideration.

“Pay attention to Renato Sanches. Next summer he will be on the market and Liverpool are looking at him,” Fabrizio said.

“There is nothing advanced yet but they are looking at him as an opportunity. He’ll be a main target for top clubs and also for Liverpool.”

He struggled with Swansea but has found some form in Ligue 1 this season with Les Dogues, albeit an injury has kept the player out of proceedings over the last month or so.

The Reds could move for a new midfielder if Georginio Wijnaldum leaves. The Dutch star has, as yet, failed to put pen to paper on fresh terms with the Reds.

The next few months could be big for Renato. He will need to get back playing and playing well if the star is to fully convince the Premier League champions to make their move for him.

His time with the Swans was a poor one but a lot has changed since then. Still only 23, Sanches has the ability to fulfil the talent which saw Bayern Munich splash out £27.5 million on him when he was a teenager.
