Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are all tracking SL Benfica ace Gedson Fernandes, with the 20-year-old midfielder looking likely to make an EPL switch in the summer window.

The youngster has broken into the senior team at Benfica this campaign making 21 league matches, although only 11 of these have been from the start.

Although, such have been his displays that he has picked up two caps for his country and caught the eye of a trio of Premier League sides.

Fernandes is rated at £35 million by his club and the Mirror reports that his agents have been in England talking about his future with his potential suitors.

It is thought that Tottenham have shown their hand a bit more readily than the other sides interested in Gedson, and are the front of the queue to get a deal done.

The UEFA Champions League finalists are said to invest heavily in their playing roster this summer after going two transfer markets without making a signing.

Spurs will hope that their historic European run and move into a new stadium will attract some of Europea’s brightest talents to the club, replacing potentially departures such as Victor Wanyama and Kieran Trippier.

Gedson has actually been out of favour at SL Benfica in the second half of the season and has not started a league game since 2 January, which ended in a shock 2-0 defeat to Portimonse.

Fernandes has since been restricted to late substitute matches and playing in the UEFA Europa League. The 20-year-old star born in Sao Tome and Principe is yet to net a professional goal in his young career.
