Liverpool and fellow Premier League club Everton are both being connected with moves to sign Portuguese outfit Sporting CP attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes, the latest reports say.
According to a Portuguese sports newspaper A Bola, both Merseyside sides are willing to sign the star this month.
Fernandes has long been connected with a move to the EPL and after impressing during the first half of the campaign, the midfield maestro is once more in demand.
Any deal to land the player will not be cheap. Bruno is under contract with Sporting CP until 2023 and boasts a release (buy-out/exit) clause worth €100 million.
However, the report states that a deal could be agreed for a sum in the region of €40 million.
Bruno was expected to depart from Sporting CP over the summer amid the internal crisis that broke out at the club, but the star remained in his native Portugal for the current campaign.
this season, in all competitions (Europa League, Allianz Cup, Liga NOS, Taça de Portugal Placard), Fernandes has netted six goals and registered five assists for his side thus far.
