Liverpool and Manchester City are both interested in signing Inter Milan youngster Sebastiano Esposito, according to a recent report from FC Inter News, via Sport Witness.
The 17-year-old centre-forward is a highly-rated prospect in his homeland and he has reportedly been the subject of ‘very rich offers’ from various elite clubs.
Liverpool and City are two of those eyeing up a move for Esposito, but they are joined by Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund.
The youngster does not yet have a big-name agent, but certain individuals are attempting hard to change that, most notably the Italo-Dutch super-agent Mino Raiola.
Esposito and his family are content at Inter Milan currently, however, so a transfer away may not be on the cards just yet.
It is always exciting to see the Reds linked with emerging young talent and Sebastiano fits into that category.
Jurgen Klopp is a head coach who will always focus on the future, as well as the present.
There appears to be nothing too concrete in Liverpool’s rumoured interest, but it may be a story to keep an eye on.
Meantime, Ralf Rangnick has backed RB Salzburg attacking midfielder Takumi Minamino to be a success at Liverpool. Ralf told Sky Sports News: “You could see he was good on the ball, very technical, good mentality.
“He is also like many Japanese players, willing to invest in the team’s efforts to win the ball back. Of course he had to learn those things tactically, but his willingness and his mentality was already there.
“He’s not the kind of player to say, “OK the other team has got the ball so, please let me know once we have the ball so I then can take part in the game again. Even at the age of 19, you could see he was a good boy.”
