According to The Mirror, Liverpool are keen on snapping up Leicester City attacker Harvey Barnes this summer.

It’s reported that Jurgen Klopp is desperate to add another forward to his squad this summer, and Wolves winger Adama Traore is a target.

However, the Anfield outfit have been looking for alternatives too, and Leicester star Barnes has caught Klopp’s eye with his energy.

The Foxes are unlikely to sell Barnes though, meaning the Rds will have to come up with a big offer for the technically gifted player – which seems unlikely in the current climate.

Harvey has racked up six goals and eight assists in 35 top-flight games this season, though 11 of those matches have been as a substitute.

The Englishman appears to have a big future ahead of him, and it’s no great surprise that Jurgen is keen due to Barnes’ energetic style, fitting well into the club’s pressing.

Ex-Liverpool chief Brendan Rodgers is currently coaching Barnes at the club, and he has been effusive with his praise of the star this season.

He told the Leicester Mercury in March that he thinks Harvey is a ‘fantastic’ player, hailing his improvement as well as his natural ability with power and pace.

“He’s a fantastic player and gaining experience all the time,” said Brendan. “He has speed, power, and endurance. It’s just a few details that need to improve in his game. He can beat players inside or out.

He’s not a naturally arrogant boy, but you can see his character now. He can play with both feet and is improving his tactical idea of the game,” the Northern Irish tactician added.
